Midnight Takeout: ~Gavin and Jessica

The dark, humid night of the Sunday affected Gavin as he stepped out of his house. The stiffiness in the air really got to him, a bead of sweat immediately sliding down his forehead as he stood there for a while. He loved Bayside, but the temperature was crazy, having ugly highs and equally ugly lows. This was the first one. Living near the beach didn’t help much either, but he shook his head at his complaints.

She was an attractive girl, Jessica. That’s who he was meeting up with. Actually, he was surprised he didn’t know who she was before. Well—Gavin was always an oblivious one. He got into his car, pulling out of the driveway and onto the road, in the direction of her home. Peering down at his hand where the address was written down, he took a turn onto a street he knew. Knowing the house was only a couple meters away, he slowed down then put the car to a halt once in front of the address. Was it late? Yes, but that was beside the point. The deal involved her and food—it was impassable.

Jessica tried to pick up around the house while waiting for Gavin’s arrival. The place was a mess. Least she could was make it look decent enough for it to be shown to other people. Before doing so, She already ordered the Chinese takeout food for the two teenagers to eat from. Jessica hoped that the idea was good enough. It was just a movie night to her with a new friend. The sound of a car parking in front of her house made her move to the window. Jessica peeked through the curtains and just as she thought, Gavin seemed to arrive. Her familiar, half-smile spread at the corner of her lips. 

The girl shoved her hands into her large hoody. Her whole outfit was pretty casual and free, really. Her white hoody, black skinny jeans and just a pair of nothing but simple socks. Jessica opened the front door. Her side leaning against the doorway. “Hurry up and come inside. I’m technically letting all the cold in.” She yelled out to him. A joking tone slipping through her soft voice. The whole street must of heard her shouting but Jessica was a complete careless person so the thought didn’t run through her mind. While waiting, She crossed her arms over her chest.
